Hitting Walls

If you missed last Sunday's post, Click here Have you ever felt like your prayers are hitting a wall?I have. Many times.Sometimes I have felt like my prayers were like bat sonar. They were squeaked out only to hit a wall and be echoed back to me. That wall would become a silent monument of defeat that left me feeling blank and hopeless. I still have prayer times like that but then it dawned on me...maybe God wants my prayers TO hit a wall. Not because he isn’t listening because as hard as this is to believe, God can hear through walls. *gasp* Shocking I know. ;) But as I was saying, God showed me my prayers are like a ramrod that strikes a blow against a stronghold that needs to come down. Each prayer weakens the wall that blocks my way until one day it crumbles. But what about the walls that don’t come down no matter how long and hard I pray? The walls that don’t come down are the walls that I have found God wants me to leap over. They are not walls of defeat but walls that test my faith in the Lord’s strength and courage in the Lord’s power.Psalms 18:28-29 “For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness. For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall.”Those are the times that my prayers hit the wall and create foot holds that help me climb up and over.So if you feel like your prayers are hitting a wall, they are and that’s a good thing. Take courage that whether the wall falls down or you have to scramble over it, each prayer is step closer to victory. If you found this post encouraging or helpful, please subscribe to the blog.
